Park Hotel

Our room for a family with two kids was fine, with a decent bathroom and AC. When our flight got changed, the staff even cancelled the cost of the first night we didn’t use. The hotel is basic, but has what you need. Breakfast service was incredibly slow. Also, a family member who had a single room called it hell: no windows, hot and very stuffy. Rooms facing the main road are also very exposed to the noise of chivas passing late into the night.

This place was one huge hassle. The showers were freezing, there was no hot water, and the internet only worked in my room if I stood in the doorway. The lobby was full of mosquitoes. They also refused to honor my Agoda booking and charged me more when I arrived.

There’s artwork all over the hotel, the pool was clean and as advertised, and the place is right across from the beach. Breakfast was very basic: eggs cooked to order, untoasted bread, coffee, and juice. The rooms vary a lot. Some have foam mattresses, others firmer beds; some have fans or windows, others don’t, and the showers differ in quality. The street is noisy, so avoid a front room. I had to switch twice before finding one I was comfortable in.

The shared balcony has a beautiful ocean view, and the location is perfect. I liked the pool, too. The staff were helpful and tried to make my stay good. Changing rooms was no problem and didn’t cost extra. They also let me leave my backpack there for a day after I no longer had a room, free of charge. I’d definitely return.
