Hotel Rodadero Dorado

The staircase needs to be fixed.

The one thing in its favor is the location near Rodadero beach. Apart from that, I’d strongly suggest avoiding this place if you want to save yourself trouble. The hotel is awful, nothing like its photos, and the food, service, and facilities are all poor. I do NOT recommend it. At check-in, they warn you that losing a room key or staining a towel or sheet will cost 50,000 COP. The furniture is already in poor shape and not fit for purpose. There are no clotheslines or nightstands in the rooms, and the AC only works while you’re in the room. The meals are bad, portions are small, choices are very limited, and they’re served at restrictive times that don’t work well with local or international tourists’ schedules. Cleanliness is terrible. There are bugs in the rooms, the dining tablecloths aren’t changed, and the shared areas aren’t swept or mopped. One night we asked them to keep our dinner for us, but it arrived cold. They said the microwave was broken. The place feels like a motel, and staying here showed a complete lack of respect and decency.

The location is central and there are shops nearby. We had a great stay, with delicious, very typical breakfasts and friendly, helpful service. They guided us through everything. Just be aware that the hotel rooms and the apartment are quite far apart, and finding them can be difficult if you don’t know the city.

Gabriela and Brayan at reception were so friendly and always ready to help. The hotel is close to El Rodadero, with an Ara supermarket and a D1 nearby. It’s a well-equipped place: clean, air-conditioned rooms, a pool, comfortable lounges, and even luggage storage if you need it after checkout. There are spots to hang damp clothes, too. The decor pays tribute to Gabriel García Márquez. I highly recommend it!
