Hotel Casa Real Villa de Leyva

We couldn’t stay because the room wasn’t ready, and the hotel didn’t understand my family’s particular situation. I asked to speak to a manager but couldn’t reach one, so we had to book somewhere else.

A great location and a must-see, must-go place. One of the wonders of my life. Excellent.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, with recommendations for where to eat, drink, and see. Breakfast was included, with eggs made how you wanted, seasonal fresh fruit, freshly squeezed OJ, coffee, chocolate, tea, arepas or bread. We also tried the empanadas, which were delicious. The pool looked nice, though we didn’t use it, and you need a shower cap to get in. Our room had plenty of space, a closet and flat surfaces for luggage, and everything we needed. It was nicely decorated, with comfortable beds, pillows, blankets and robes. The large rain shower had really hot water. The only issue was that the room got hot, and we didn’t realize the windows opened. There’s no AC. We stayed two nights and had a wonderful time. I’d recommend it to friends and family.

The breakfasts were very average, and for the size and price of the hotel, I expected better. Service was good, though. The place has a lovely vintage feel, and the room was spotless, but there was a slight smell of sweat.
