The owner entered my room without asking or letting me know. I’d already told them after the first night that the TVs weren’t working, but he only chose to deal with it on my last night, while I was out at dinner. He’d spent two days sitting in the lobby doing nothing. I asked twice to move rooms, and the receptionist refused both times with excuses, even though the hotel was almost completely empty. There’s also noisy construction starting at 7:30 a.m. right now, and they don’t tell you about it. I expect it may go on for months. These people are in the wrong line of work. Miserable.

The breakfast was excellent, with a choice of Colombian tamal or eggs made the way you like them, and the price was great. Everything was very clean, and the service was great too. The hotel is just a few blocks from the main plaza. I loved it.

It’s right in the heart of Villa de Leyva. This small hotel has lovely colonial style, and although it’s brand new, the prices are very low.

It was clean and quiet, maybe a little too quiet. The downside is having to hand in your keys every time you leave the hostel.

I visited in February. The staff were kind, the place was clean, and breakfast in the morning was good.
