The staff made a real difference when our shuttle plans went wrong. They called around to help us sort it out, and they were outstanding throughout our stay. The rooms were good value, and the included breakfast was wholesome and seriously delicious. The tall gates and front and back courtyards give the property a peaceful feel while you’re still in the city, and the pool in the back is stunning. Hotel Casa Tago is my top recommendation in San Jose. Wherever you’re from, it feels like home.

Our shuttle didn’t show up when we were due to leave at 8am, and the staff worked hard to reach the provider. They figured out the itinerary had the wrong time, 9am. Before that, even though we arrived from the airport around midnight, someone kindly greeted us at the entrance and gave us a great room. The included breakfast was unbelievably tasty and came out quickly. A place that feels like home, and I’d highly recommend it to travelers.

A nice little place very close to the airport, with everything within walking distance. The people were super nice, and breakfast was simple but tasty. There’s also a pool. The shower wasn’t cold, but it wasn’t hot either. I’ll definitely stay here again if I fly into SJO.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, and good value for the price. Breakfast was nice, too. Traffic gets a bit loud in the morning because there isn’t much sound insulation.

We appreciated how friendly the host was. Our spacious room had a hardwood floor and even an outdoor balcony. The neighborhood wasn’t a nice part of town, but the gated parking lot helped us feel safe. To be fair, we didn’t see many places in downtown San Jose that seemed really safe.
