We loved staying with Charlene and Gerard on our first trip to Costa Rica. Everything is easy to reach on foot, from grocery stores and restaurants to shops and the oceanfront beach, where you can swim, collect shells, ride horses, or try water sports. We also took day trips to a cocoa shop, soda shops, a furniture store with Guanacasta and teak pieces featuring natural edges, and a white-water rafting trip. Breakfast each morning was traditional Costa Rican food: corn tortillas, scrambled eggs, salsa, fruit like papaya, pineapple, banana, and watermelon, plus fresh coffee. The housekeeper and her helper were wonderful. Guests share an outdoor kitchen with a sink, counter, hot plate, toaster, ice maker, fridge, microwave, blender, and other usual small items. It opens onto a dining area surrounded by lovely plants, palms, coconut trees, and mango trees. There’s also a seating spot with books and maps, Wi-Fi in the common area and rooms, and a small, lovely pool. Four cats and two dogs wander around the property.

We felt at home here, thanks to the staff, and everything was very clean. Breakfast was really good, with fresh eggs, rice and beans, and fruit. There’s a small shared kitchen for guests, and the grocery store is only a minute away. The beach is about 5-10 minutes away, and Playa Conchal is a beautiful option about a 25-minute walk from the property. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The host was very nice, and the location is convenient for Brasilito Beach. The room and bathroom, though, were very small and basic, with no toiletries provided. Parking is extremely tight. There can also be noise and light from the common area right outside several rooms, and barking dogs are an issue, including a couple that live there.

The hosts were so gracious and made us feel like family. The bed and breakfast had everything we needed, and the location worked great for restaurants, beaches, and snorkeling. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return. It felt like a home away from home, and I totally recommend it.

A relaxing, fun place to stay, with clean rooms and great food. We had a wonderful time, and the beaches and local restaurants are so close. Highly recommend!
