Bungalow Malú Lodge

We had a great time. The rooms were nice, the service was good, and everyone was very accommodating. There wasn’t much happening on the main beach, though some people may prefer it that way.

We were lucky enough to spot wild monkeys and sloths nearby, and the location right on the best beach in the area is amazing. The staff were really helpful. The kitchens weren’t very well equipped for cooking, but they’ll do if you just want to make something quick. The bungalows could have been cleaner, though. There were some ants near the bed, and the floors weren’t tidy.

The location is fantastic, though it’s a fairly long walk from town. It’s a hotel made up of chalets and round houses of different sizes. The restaurant food is good and reasonably priced, but the menu prices don’t include the 13% tax or 10% service charge. The rooms are very basic and have some wasted space. The toilets and showers are good, but the pool is nowhere near as big as it looks in the pictures. Also, restaurant prices were cheaper for tourists who didn’t speak Spanish than for Spanish speakers. Utterly bizarre.

Bungalow malu for the win! The bungalows were comfortable and the whole property had a great atmosphere. Manager Walter was A+, and the rest of the staff were great too. The drinks and food were good, the pool was perfect, and the location couldn’t be better. I loved it and can’t wait to come back. Great for couples, families, and groups alike. Highly recommended.
