Hotel Aguas Claras Member of the Cayuga Collection

The wildlife was a real treat, with great green macaws and parrots flying overhead all day, plus monkeys, lizards, and geckos on the property. The resort itself was gorgeous, and the room was very clean and temperature controlled, which helped on hot nights. The staff were absolutely lovely and attentive, and the service, food, drinks, and location were all top notch. It's a good distance from town, and there's a liquor store about a 10-minute walk away for snacks and other things. Mosquitoes were the one really unpleasant part. There's a beautiful lily pond water feature in the yoga space, and I think it may be a breeding ground. I got more bites at the resort than in the jungle, and dealing with 50 bites for the rest of my trip was a bummer. The staff were understanding and apologetic. Other guests seemed to be having trouble too, though there were hardly any mosquitoes outside the resort. I hope they can sort it out, because this place is too great to have so many mosquitoes. I absolutely loved my stay and would like to come back with friends. I'd avoid weekends, since the beaches get crowded fast.

We had a comfortable room and especially liked the open air shower. There was plenty to do around the hotel, and borrowing the spotting scope for birds, monkeys, and sloths was a real highlight. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made everything easy. Beautiful hotel, wonderful atmosphere, great service, and amazing food. I'd highly recommend staying at Aguas Claras!

The lovely decorated houses and jungly gardens, full of birds, sloths, and frogs, made our family stay at Aguas Claras special. We loved the bedrooms with AC, the staff, and the food. And we loved the beach most of all :)

We had a fantastic short stay in mid-February, our second time at a Cayuga collection resort, and it didn't disappoint. The cozy villas tucked into the lush rainforest were cute and comfortable, with exciting wildlife around the property and nearby. The staff were incredibly accommodating, helpful, and friendly. Mable, Givran, Jefferson, Arriet, and Jazmin were awesome, along with many other great staff members. The food and drinks were wonderful at the resort and in the area. The five-hour drive to and from San Jose was rough, and the helicopter and charter airplane options were expensive. Even so, we'd recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely Costa Rica stay and experience.
