La Magia Bungalows

The on-site manager and staff were wonderful throughout my month-long stay. They were kind, responsive and helpful. Unfortunately, the owner’s conduct ruined the experience for me, and I wouldn’t return or recommend the property. Before I booked, the photos I was sent showed the charming wooden houses and pool, but not the actual house I’d be renting. The place turned out to be completely different, which felt misleading. During my stay, the owner repeatedly asked to show the house to potential renters, so I had to leave while strangers walked through. I tried to be understanding that she was looking to rent the space, but it was disruptive. The worst incident was one Saturday morning, when the owner, who lives in San José, arrived and got furious because a neighbor’s dog was on the property. She started throwing rocks at it. I calmly asked her to stop, and she insulted me personally. I came to Costa Rica for peace and rest, but instead had to deal with hostility from the person renting me the home.

Only four bungalows make this a quiet place, and the grounds are beautiful. The pool was a real delight. The bungalows are so well built, with thoughtful details that make you comfortable. The owners are kind and helpful too. What a beautiful place to stay, I highly recommend this little slice of heaven!

The hosts were so kind, and waking up to tropical birds and monkeys made this feel like a hidden gem in the jungle. The bungalows are tastefully decorated, too.

The beach is close by, and the bungalows are clean and nice. The whole place is surrounded by green forest, so it's a lovely spot to stay.
