Mohagine Hotel

The shared kitchen had everything we needed, and there was a fridge too. We camped for three nights in our 4x4 with a rooftop tent and found the place really nice. The host was warm and friendly, the toilets were spotless, and the showers had hot water. We paid $20 per night for two people.

We spent six days camping in our tent and loved the time with Ana & Gio. Ana also teaches diving, and our dive with her was fabulous: we saw mantas, sharks, turtles, and lots of fish. The wildlife around the Finca made it feel like the deep jungle, especially in the mornings and evenings, with macaws, toucans, howler monkeys, morpheus butterflies, and many other birds and insects visiting. Yet supermarkets and restaurants are only a five-minute walk away. Bahia Drake is one of the most biodiverse places on earth, both on land and at sea, and Mohagine is a wonderful base for enjoying the peninsula. The shared bathrooms and kitchen were spotless and had everything we needed. Ana & Gio were fantastic hosts and did all they could to make us comfortable. One of the most special places we've visited on our world trip. 100% recommended!

Capuchin monkeys, hummingbirds, toucans, and plenty of other birds stop by the common area. The cabins are good, and that shared space is lovely for cooking or just hanging out. The owner helped us so much with booking for the next day, arranging trips, and storing our luggage. She made everything at Mohagine easy. A great place to stay in Drake.

Olmam, the owner, made this stay unforgettable. She welcomed us and helped in more ways than any other owner we met during our trip in Costa Rica. I'd love to come back. The open rooms look out onto the jungle, which made for a unique and really enjoyable experience. The shared toilets and showers were clean, and the spacious kitchen and lounge had plenty of equipment. For the price, I would strongly recommend staying here.
