Villa Ceiba

We stayed five nights and still enjoyed the house, especially the front porch with its flowers and Arenal view. The price felt fair, we slept comfortably, and I’m happy to recommend it for a short visit. With extra towels and trash bags provided, I’d also consider it suitable for a longer stay. Fabio was great to communicate with before we arrived. He asked when we’d get there and was fine when I changed the time. He met us, showed us around, shared information about town, and we paid in cash. He doesn’t speak English, but Google Translate worked well. He answered our WhatsApp requests right away during the stay. The area around the house was lovely, with a tropical garden and a beautiful view of Arenal when the weather allowed. We enjoyed the birds, and the house was spotless. The kitchen had plenty of equipment, though no oven. There was enough hot water for all three of us to shower one after another, the wifi was fast, and each bedroom had its own air conditioner. Those cooled the rest of the house pretty quickly too. Having a washer was handy, but there’s no dryer, so clothes have to hang up to dry. Don’t leave laundry until your last night or you’ll be packing wet clothes. A few things were less convenient. The small dish rack couldn’t hold all our dishes, and there was only one kitchen towel for drying them. We found just one spare trash bag, which we used in the kitchen. Since toilet paper can’t be flushed, the bathroom bin started to smell after the second day. The shower stopped draining by then too, presumably because hair clogged it. The two A/C units just outside the second bedroom were very loud. There were so many keys, and color coding them would help identify each door. For a five-night stay, an extra set or change of bath towels would have been nice. There’s also a large hole near the bottom of the main door, and some creatures came in through it. Finally, an electrical device, perhaps the water heater, was attached to the shower head, with exposed wiring that didn’t seem right.

Breakfast with a view of Arenal, surrounded by birdsong and hummingbirds, was wonderful. The garden was magnificent, and the place itself was beautiful.

Surrounded by nature in a really peaceful area, the brand-new villa is a great place to unwind with family. It’s only minutes from downtown La Fortuna and has a stunning view of the Arenal volcano 🌋

For a peaceful stay in La Fortuna, this is surely the best option. The house has been completely renovated, sits among greenery in a very quiet area, and offers views of the volcano.
