Hyatt Place Cariari Convention Center

The room was comfortable, with a comfortable bed and a good-sized bathroom, and everything looked immaculate in this newly designed hotel. My only room complaint was that the air conditioning was quite noisy. We liked the pool, which is small but fine for this kind of hotel, and the relaxation area was excellent. There’s also a water dispenser. The gym was perfect, and the machines were spotless. Breakfast was great too. Service was exceptional. The restaurant menu is gourmet and somewhat limited, though suitable for this kind of hotel. I’d like to see more options, and the portions are on the small side. They also didn’t have all the beers they were supposed to. The restaurant experience was still good overall. We got lost trying to find parking because there weren’t enough signs and ended up entering the condominiums next door. The part that really bothered me was the extra charge. They held $250, saying it was like a fine in case we smoked, but they hadn’t told us about it, which doesn’t seem right. After checkout, I saw a $350 charge. When I called, they said it was a backup in case the fine needed to be charged. I wouldn’t mind if this had been made clear from the start, but it wasn’t. I’m mentioning it so other guests won’t be surprised, and so the accommodation won’t leave these details out when people arrive. We went for the weekend and still had a positive experience overall. We want to return, since we think it’s a very good option.
