I used to rent an apartment in Mountain View for a little over a year. All the drains kept clogging, so maintenance had to come by every month to clear them. Pipes also broke and caused random leaks in the walls several times during that single year. There were serious pest problems too, including dust mites, ants, and termites. The shared pool was basically unusable for me because they wouldn't heat it in Escazu's fairly cool weather. Other issues included turnpike noise and guards who wouldn't help even when I was alone carrying several pieces of luggage. ReMAX Costa Rica is the building's sole agent. They push hard for buying instead of renting, apparently because the owner is desperate to get rid of the many vacant units. Buyer beware. I was a former tenant, and those were my experiences.
