Courtyard by Marriott San Jose Escazu

Customer service was a real disappointment. Management's replies felt dismissive, and they made little effort to help or suggest another solution. Room service also seemed unavailable, or at least wasn't clearly explained during my stay. I was there on a business trip, booked from March 29 through April 19, but an unexpected emergency meant I had to leave on April 10. The hotel still charged me through April 19 and wouldn't reimburse the unused nights. I understand there may be policies, but the lack of flexibility or consideration was frustrating. The experience fell short, especially for a business traveler who expects professional support, and I wouldn't recommend the hotel based on it.💔👎

The room and bathroom were nice, but the shower was so large it stayed cold. Breakfast wasn't great either, the pancakes were like cardboard and the cereal was stale. I was there just last night.

The rooms were good and the beds really comfortable, but the price felt steep for what was offered. I booked it as a birthday gift, and there was a bit of a fuss at check-in because I wasn't the person arriving, even though I'd called ahead and formally authorized it in the app. As a platinum Marriot member, we usually get breakfast for me and my partner, but this hotel wanted to charge for one breakfast. At $400 a night, that was pretty bothersome. Even in peak season in Cr, I thought it was very expensive. The hotel clearly wasn't full, but we weren't offered an upgrade either. Luckily I paid with points, or I'd have been really disappointed.

The front desk staff are nice, the rooms are clean, and the bed is very comfortable. I love the location and this place. My one complaint is the TV: nearly all the channels are in Spanish, aside from sports and news. If you're lucky, there's one English channel, with CSI on all day 😔
