Argdivan Hostel

The volunteers really made the place special. Jorgelina Fekete was kind and welcoming right from the start, and went out of her way to help us have a good stay. She and catalina made my girlfriends and me feel at ease and kept things fun and positive. The hostel itself was clean, comfortable, and welcoming too. I had such a good time here and would happily come back. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

The location worked well for us, close to the city center but away from the main street, and there was plenty of street parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Still, the service felt confusing at times. Breakfast runs until 10 a.m., but sometimes the front desk worker was also the one making it, so things didn't run smoothly. We left laundry in the afternoon after being told it would be ready that night, but it wasn't, and we had to sleep without our pajamas. We stayed in the “Blue Jeans” suite. It smelled moldy, the mattress and pillows weren't comfortable, the bathroom fan sounded like an erratic jet turbine, flushing was tricky, and the loose toilet seat cover suggested maintenance wasn't regular. The room is beside the kitchen and entrance lobby, too, so noisy teenagers came and went at all hours, laughing, talking loudly, and banging kitchen cupboards around. There was no staff around to ask them to keep it down. Unlike other hostels I've stayed at, the kitchen only has a refrigerator and no freezer, so frozen food would melt. Maybe this is fine if you're a teenager, but as a middle-aged couple traveling, it definitely wasn't the experience we wanted.

Our upstairs private room with a balcony was spacious, clean, and really comfortable. There's no hair dryer, and one staff member seemed to be juggling a lot, though everyone was friendly. Rain hitting the roof can get loud at night. Motorcycles were noisy on the street too, but they seemed loud all over la fortuna.

Everything was clean, organized, and close to all the amenities. Jorje (George) takes real pride in his work, answers questions whenever he can, and tries to sort out little problems. He's also a fantastic dancer, any style! Great hostel and super staff. ❤️🇨🇦 ❤️
