Best Western El Sitio Hotel

The staff were friendly, the pool was okay, and the hotel is close to the airport. That's about all I can say in its favor. I would never stay here again. We booked because of the Best Western name, the airport location, and the advertised casino. The hotel and rooms are very dated, especially the bathrooms, which look like they haven't changed since the 1980s. The shower water was only warm. Our room had poor Wi-Fi, a noisy AC unit, and extremely hard, uncomfortable beds and pillows. The website lists AAA and CAA discounts, but when I asked, I was told they don't offer one. Breakfast was basic with limited choices. By 8:30 the fruit trays were empty, and the cooked food was awful and overdone. The websites for Best Western, Expedia, Booking.com, and other platforms still promote the casino, as do the sign out front and the business cards at the counter. But when I asked about it, the woman at reception said it had been closed since the pandemic. I pointed out that was six years ago. She agreed, apologized, and offered us two bottles of water. Leaving this misinformation up for years is unacceptable, and there seems to have been no effort to tell the public. Best Western and this location's management should update the information everywhere.

There's lots of greenery, and the view is stunning. Having a hotel like this in the city feels special. The bedrooms are well equipped, there's a large pool, and parking outside is plentiful. It's suitable for families with children, with good quality for a reasonable price. It went beyond what I imagined.

We were traveling as a family with three seniors and needed somewhere to stay the night before a flight. The Best Western Hotel is conveniently located in Liberia, though it isn't close to the airport. The lobby, grounds, and buildings feel lively, and there's an excellent pool. We also saw peacocks and howler monkeys on site. Breakfast includes local CR cuisine. A great choice!

The pictures looked nice, but we couldn't get out of there fast enough. The location felt dangerous, and the guard at the door carries a gun. The kids' pool was filthy, the showers were awful, and the food was horrible. We even found a 3-foot hair in our nachos. The bed was hard as a rock. Shame on Best Western. We usually count on a decent place when your name is on it.
