Refugio Lodge

Augustin was so welcoming and easy to contact whenever we needed something. He really went out of his way to keep our stay running smoothly. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable and well looked after. We were very happy here, would definitely recommend it, and hope to stay again.

Even though it’s right in a busy town, the hotel feels like a quiet little refuge. The pool and hotel are peaceful, with a big covered deck beneath trees where monkeys hang out. The beach and everything around town are an easy walk away. The cafe attached to the hotel served some of the best quality food and coffee we’ve had. Agustin was a great host, and we’d happily stay here again.

The owners and staff were always smiling and incredibly helpful, especially Agustin. We had a lovely little room in a charming garden behind the street, with a pool and less of the street noise. The bedrooms were spacious, too. The hotel is well placed for both the beach and nearby bars, and the cocktails at the bar were delicious.

The bar had a fun atmosphere with music each night, and breakfast was delicious. Agustín was especially helpful with suggestions for restaurants, bars and other places. We tried everywhere on his list and loved them all. The staff were so welcoming and really made an effort to give us a good stay. The rooms could have been better, and the pool was dirty. We didn’t really need the pool with the beach so close, though.
