It was windy with lots of waves, and the water wasn’t clear that day. The public beach had rocks along about half of it, and there were many locals. It was our first time stopping on this side of Costa Rica.

It’s better for surfing than swimming, and a great place to walk along the shore. Come for the sun and the beautiful waves. The town of Plata Limón in Costa Rica loves soccer first and surfing second, but the 12 year-old national surfing champion is from Plata Limón! There’s a restaurant at Playa Bonita and a spigot on the side to rinse your feet.

I just went swimming at Playa Bonita Beach, I didn’t stay at a Hotel or eat at the restaurant. Watch out for the spikey rocks and step carefully. Enjoy the swim.

The sand was beautiful and the water was clear. We also had delicious food at a nearby restaurant.
