6/10
The room was spacious, clean, and fairly modern, so it works if you just need a place to sleep while passing through. The grounds are in rough shape, though, old and dirty and clearly in need of renovation. The pool looked nothing like the photo, and seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. I was honestly scared to get in. Breakfast was the worst we tried in Costa Rica. We’d stayed at different hotels and had typical breakfasts elsewhere, so I had something to compare it with. If it’s your first Costa Rican breakfast, don’t start here or you might not enjoy the cuisine. In general, it felt like a motel, and definitely not a good one.

It was decent and clean, but the bedding needs an update and better quality. The pillows especially need to be replaced urgently.

Just an average hotel. We arrived early and couldn’t leave our luggage there.

The rooms were clean, and the hotel is just a short distance from the center of Nicoya.
