The owner, Annie, is the sweetest and most caring person I’ve ever met, and you can tell how much this place means to her by how well she looks after it. The rooms are clean and the location is amazing. This is the most amazing hostel you’ll ever stay at. If you’re in Samara, stay here!

I loved the rooftop spot for relaxing, and the whole place felt comfortable. The kitchen was clean and had everything I needed, and my room was spotless. The owner helped me through a personal situation, which I really appreciated. She can come across as stern and won’t tolerate bad behavior, but she’s also really cool. I think keeping guests safe is her main concern. I’d happily stay again, and only wish I could have stayed longer, if there’d been space.

Stayed in the AC dorm and had a great time. It’s a really clean hostel with a great kitchen, run by the best local woman. Perfect spot in Sámara!

Our room was spotless and honestly nicer than most of the hotels we stayed at in Costa Rica. Annie and her family were wonderful hosts, spoke very clear English, and helped us with everything, from local suggestions to getting our laundry done and planning the next part of our trip. I’d absolutely recommend this place in Sámara.

The two sisters running the hostel were attentive, generous, and lovely. For this price, it’s a step above most hostels. Just keep expectations simple: the beds are basic, the rooms get hot without air conditioning, and street noise can be an issue. Every so often there was also a whiff of septic from next door.
