The views are what stayed with us most. From the hilltop cabins, you can see across San José, Cartago, and Paraíso, and the sunset can be unforgettable if you catch it. The location is about 10 minutes by car from Tierra Blanca, where you can get groceries, supplies, or a meal. It’s good value for the price and setting, and felt like a lovely getaway. Inside, the cabins are spacious and have a small fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were very clean with surprisingly hot water. Wi-Fi was strong, which was useful in such a remote spot. There aren’t many outlets, though, so choosing what to plug in can be a puzzle. I suggested adding more for modern needs. It gets quite cold after 5:30 PM, and the little heater wasn’t quite enough for the midnight chill. Ask for extra blankets if you need them, the staff are happy to provide them. They were also helpful and available 24/7. Breakfast in the cozy common area was simple, and staff were open to suggestions. There’s no full-service restaurant on site. Guests get 30 minutes at the fire pit each night, enough to enjoy the atmosphere. Check-in was a little slow but worked fine, while check-out was hassle-free. Parking was convenient, with spaces in front of or behind the cabin. Despite the outlet puzzle and cold nights, we enjoyed our stay, and the views alone make it worth visiting.
