We arrived at 1pm and had lunch before the 3pm check-in, but were told using the pool would cost extra, even though we were paying $124 for one night. The food was greasy, the waitress was unfriendly and couldn’t answer basic menu questions, and the barman wouldn’t make a simple lemonade. For that nightly price, I’d expect water in the room. Instead, I was told to buy it at the bar. The woman there did helpfully say tap water was safe to drink, but why couldn’t reception have told us? The AC barely worked and the place was run down. A very disappointing stay, and I don’t recommend it.

The beds were comfortable, and the staff tried to help despite not speaking much English. But this felt like a 2-star hotel, not a 4-star one, and the website was deceptive. It’s a low, two-story building, not a high-rise. The room was very bare: no promised mini fridge, cups or glasses, laundry bags, tissues, or pictures on the walls. There was no hot water at the bathroom sink. The band was noisy, though it stopped at 10 pm.

We arrived at 1:30pm after being told we could come early and use the pool until check-in, but they wouldn’t let us use anything, even though the hotel was empty. The front desk people were rude and not helpful. It was a terrible experience with my friend, and a big mistake. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. I’d give it 2 stars.

The grounds are a delight, and the place was clean and comfortable. I stopped here on my way to the Paquera ferry.

The pool area is lovely, and the staff are friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast too. If you're arriving by car, you can ask for a room with parking lot access, which makes unloading bags easier. The cocktails at the pool bar are good and inexpensive, though the food there costs a lot.
