Espadilla Ocean Club

Dani, our concierge, was quick to respond on Whatsapp and very helpful with questions and activity bookings. The shared outdoor game room area was nice, with a pool table, Jenga, other games, and books. Parking spaces were tight, but we got used to squeezing in carefully. The villas are beautiful, with a pathway straight to the beach, and conveniently close to Manuel Antonio national Park and nearby restaurants. Our two rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen made it easy to cook basic things or warm up leftovers for our two kids. The fire villa master bedroom looks over major new hotel construction at the moment. Privacy frosting and curtains cover the windows, but the beach view isn’t great. We did spot monkeys in the trees. We really enjoyed this change of pace from resort hotels.

The location is breathtaking, and the staff’s warm welcome and genuine smiles set the tone as soon as I arrived. I was impressed by the care and attention throughout the resort. My room was spacious, elegantly decorated, luxurious, and meticulously maintained, with all the modern amenities I could need. What made Espadilla Ocean Club stand out most was the service. Everyone went above and beyond to make the stay feel perfect. Their genuine warmth and dedication made me feel like part of the Espadilla family.

Four adults stayed in the Earth Villa in November 2019. It’s hard to give this hidden gem the five stars it deserves, because part of me wants to keep it to myself. The beachfront location is incredible, and unlike this place, most hotels in Manual Antonio are up in the hills. There’s a lovely jungle stream that runs out to the ocean, monkeys in the trees, and a perfect plunge pool. The owners were wonderful to meet, and Juan was very helpful with activities and taking care of us. The bedrooms were large and well-equipped, bathrooms very nice, and the AC worked well. The living room and kitchen were a bit small, but we spent most of our time outdoors. There’s no TV, but why would you need one? Internet access was good. Breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced. Since it was off-season, they weren’t offering other meals, though I think lunch or dinner may be available if booked ahead during the main season.

These villas worked especially well for a family trip. Having more than one bedroom gave us privacy, and the kitchen had all the conveniences of home for preparing meals when we wanted. The units have a funky design, but they’re functional and interesting. A/C worked great, the splash pool was refreshing, and the people managing the place showed us around, had the A/C on for our arrival, and gave us good dinner recommendations. We loved our stay at Espadilla Ocean Club in Manuel Antonio. The villas have direct beach access and are within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and the National Park.
