Inn on the Park

There was nearby work going on, but it wrapped up at 5 pm and didn’t bother us. For breakfast we walked a short distance to the sister hotel, El Faro. Golf carts were available, though we didn’t need one. This is a budget three-star place in a perfect spot for the park. Our room had air conditioning, a coffee maker, and a fridge.

The location is unbeatable, right by the park entrance and beach, and the rooms are spacious and decently equipped. But the noise ran from 7 am to 5 pm with construction, then from 5 to 10 pm with loud restaurant music. I always travel with earplugs, so it didn’t completely ruin the stay, but be aware. The main bed’s mattress was hard as concrete. Our entrance and window faced a closed hallway, with a blank wall three feet away, making the room dark and depressing. Power went out frequently, shutting off all the lights but, curiously, not the TV. Breakfast, served at El Faro up the hill, was adequate. Good location, but overall not a great place to stay.

Juan Carlos made our time in Manuel Antonio really enjoyable. He was super helpful, booked two tours, made dinner reservations, offered lots of recommendations, and was extremely professional and friendly. We rented private bungalow A, which was clean, spacious, and really nice. The view from this hostel is incredible, and sunsets in the hammocks are amazing. We wish we could have stayed for a month!

I arrived without a reservation, and the guys at the desk were very polite. They found me a bed in a shared room for $12, with air conditioning. The bed was comfy, the sheet was soft, and the hostel was quiet and peaceful. A good cheap place to stay, and I’d recommend it to anyone who needs one. The parking lot is a little dark at night. The guys said they were under new management and renovating, so keep that in mind.
