Peace of Paradise

The included breakfast was good, and the staff working there were friendly. But this felt like a two-star place at best, with shared walls, and the listing didn't represent what we actually got. We booked through Airbnb and wish we'd read the Google reviews first. Our room was much smaller than the photos, had nowhere for our bags, and both stools were broken. It was at the bottom of the property and smelled strongly of damp and mildew. The listing mentioned a "60 minute massage included," but when we asked, we were told it was only a 20% discount if we paid $25 per person for one of their packages. The whole thing felt misleading and a bit scammy.

There were literally monkeys running around on the roof, and it's a good spot if you like being near nature, shops, and restaurants. The rooms are huge, the breakfast is yummy, and the AC was perfect. In my room, at least, the TV seemed to be just for decoration. It's close to restaurants but a long walk to the beach, with a hilly route. I like long walks, but unless you do too, I'd suggest having a rental car or knowing how to use the bus. Service loses points because I asked for fresh towels during my three-night stay and never got them.

The staff were great, and the location worked well. Our big room had a kitchen, and monkeys came right up to the patio. Breakfast and a guide to manuel antonio park were free, though park tickets weren't included.

I felt well looked after here and would stay again. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was included and delicious, and they also had coffee and tea. The staff were good and attentive from arrival, explaining local things to do and sharing useful recommendations. There was some confusion about scheduling massages, but I got in touch with Eva and she happily sorted it out, even fitting us in last minute before our morning checkout. I had a lovely chat with the women in the office, especially Danielle. The location is central, near Manuel Antonia and Quepos, with lots of wildlife around. I'd recommend this place.
