We were staying a few minutes' walk from Samara Pacific Lodge when we learned that non-guests could come in for food and drinks, so we tried breakfast there one morning. We had pancakes with coffee and tea, toast, fresh fruit and juice. The food was good and reasonably priced, and the service was prompt and friendly. The dining area was quaint and clean.

The waitress was lovely and all smiles, but the food left us disappointed after we'd chosen the place based on the early reviews. Every dish came with fries and a mix of raw vegetables, including beets. Since they had no vegetables, we asked to swap the fries for rice. The tuna tataki was too salty even without the extremely salty soy sauce, while the pesto bruschetta was quite bland.

You can eat here even if you're not staying at the hotel. It's a really good restaurant, with excellent food and friendly service.
