Hotel Fleur De Lys

The interior was tasteful, and breakfast was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed just one night, and the location was convenient for coming from the airport and passing through.

I stayed in the jacuzzi suite and loved it, though the simpler rooms looked like they'd do the job too. The common areas were comfortable, with people often sitting on the front patio or upstairs. You can hear the city outside, but as someone used to city noise, I slept right through it. Hotel Fleur De Lys is a lovely place to slow down amid San Jose's bustle. It's not for someone looking for a five star resort, but the historical architecture and cultural authenticity make it a great fit. It's an older building with the quirks you'd expect, and I highly recommend it.

The location was the only good thing for us. The woman at reception was very unfriendly, and the room didn't match the nice pictures they advertise. We got a tiny, windowless room that smelled damp. She said that's what we'd booked, but the booking had completely different photos, nothing like it. If we'd known, we wouldn't have reserved there. The beds looked as though someone had already used them, or maybe the sheets needed ironing.

Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very nice and helpful. It's a local hotel with clean rooms and a great location. It may not have the fancy features of the big chains, and the rooms are named after flowers instead of numbered.
