Hotel & Suites Casa Conde

I liked having breakfast by the pool and enjoying the view. It's a very quiet, private place, and the staff are friendly.

I stayed at Casa Conde several times for both work and leisure, but my latest visit has put me off returning. While I was out visiting family, someone entered my room and took a gold necklace that I'd tucked inside my backpack. There are no safes in the rooms. Management seemed surprised when I reported it, but didn't do much to help or offer a solution. The housekeeper responded aggressively and suggested the thief might have come in through the window, which seemed completely unreasonable. I expected better security and customer care from a hotel. I'm deeply disappointed and wouldn't recommend Casa Conde. If you're concerned about your belongings, I'd look elsewhere.

The staff were kind and nice, but that was the only good part. Every room we were given during our few nights had issues. The rooms are all in poor shape, outdated, and not well maintained. Such a disappointment. We won't stay here again on our next visit to the country.

We spent five days here and had no complaints. We wanted a place to sleep each night while we were in Costa Rica, and came to experience local culture, food, and life while avoiding typical tourist activities. We weren't expecting a luxury suite or lots of extras. The beds were clean, the staff interactions were excellent, and our suite had a kitchen with a fridge, stove, microwave, coffee pot, utensils, plus a washer and dryer. We walked to a nearby market for a few supplies, then drove to a Palo for more.geoxeries and cooked in the room. It really depends what you're after. For affordable rates, hospitable staff, and a comfortable no-frills stay, this worked well for us. If you want five-star luxury with staff waiting on you, you'd likely want a resort instead.
