Hotel Talamanca

I couldn’t sleep because the window wouldn’t close and the street noise was unbearable. The front desk never mentioned that noise could be a problem when I rented the room. I own an Airbnb and would tell my customers about an inconvenience like that. This was unacceptable and unprofessional. I’m requesting a refund and filing complaints with the company and the Costa Rica tourism board.

We were on a mission trip, and a few friends stayed here too. We all agreed it was a nice, clean, decent place. The rooms are spacious and the service was great.

This little hotel is clean and quiet, with very helpful employees and reasonable prices. The free Tipica breakfast in the morning is nice, and there’s a good little Tipica restaurant across the street. The BCR bank is two blocks away, with Mercado Central, panerias, food shops, bars, and the pedestrian-only Avenida Central all a few blocks from the hotel. It feels very Costa Rican, not like staying in a tourist hotel. Get out and see the real San Jose. I’d definitely recommend it.

For a busy area of San Jose, it’s quick to get everywhere from here, and they do a good job keeping the place up.
