Hotel Villa Los Candiles

Travelers, beware. I didn’t notice the $900 missing from my hotel room safe until I’d checked out and driven two hours away. Some workers here stole it. When I called to complain, the hotel was no help at all. Don’t stay here.

The service and quality are outstanding. One of my favorite places to stay and eat!

My rate included breakfast, though I think some rates may leave it out. There were continental choices, plus made-to-order eggs or an omelette. I ordered the omelette with everything and really liked it, especially sitting beside the reflection pool in the cool Santa Ana breeze. It was a lovely way to start the day. The hotel is very clean, with modern but comfortable architecture and design, and the rate is a great value among the good options in Santa Ana. The only drawback was that my room had no hot water. I mentioned it to the front desk attendant the night before, before going out to dinner, but it still wasn’t fixed. I’ll definitely stay here again.

When I first arrived in San Jose, the hotel seemed good, but not amazing. After traveling around the country and coming back, I realized it was one of the best places I’d stayed. The staff and breakfast were good, and the rooms really are nice, with a great shower and bathroom. It was a welcome break after some of the places I’d stayed. I’d stay here again without hesitation if I were in San Jose.
