Belcruz Bed & Breakfast

Dinner was really high end, one of the best meals of my life. Breakfast is included, with eggs, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, toast, and fruit. Our room was lovely, modern, clean, and had a porch overlooking the mountains. There’s a mini trail to the rooms, and since the B&B isn’t downtown, you’ll need a taxi. The staff are helpful with arranging one, though there are steep hills if you’re walking without a car. Randal helped us plan our activities when we arrived, and the staff clearly take pride in both the hotel and restaurant. I can’t recommend it enough.

The view from our room was so good I wish my own house had one like it. We stayed two nights on a birding trip in Costa Rica. The place is beautiful, the rooms were really nice, and the location works well for walking to local hotspots.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and the bed was great. This small hotel sits on its own little patch of rainforest along the highway, about five minutes outside the main town. You walk from your room to reception for breakfast. The rooms were very clean and well kept, simple but pleasant and not outdated. Breakfast was edible, though nothing special. I’d still highly recommend it for the reasonable price, safe and comfortable stay, and beautiful setting.

The restaurant is a real highlight, worth the short walk along the little path on the property for dinner. The free breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts you could want. The hotel itself is lovely, with a great view from the balconies. My room was clean, and though there was no AC or TV, I didn’t mind. There was a fan, and it doesn’t get too hot at that elevation.
