I booked without knowing what to expect, and the service completely blew me away. Everyone was kind and helpful, with Four Seasons level service in a charming hotel surrounded by rainforest. The food was amazing, made with ingredients grown on the farm or sourced locally, so it couldn’t be fresher. Our room was very clean, I slept like a stone, and woke to thousands of birds. I’d highly recommend the hotel and the Monteverde area.

The hotel’s history and real commitment to sustainability stood out to us, and arranging experiences through the concierge was easy. The farm tour, massages, and Savia each added something special. We had a magical, restful stay at Hotel Belmar, with a peaceful atmosphere and care in every detail, from the rooms to the welcoming common spaces and excellent food. Huge thanks to the staff: Karla and Katherine were so warm and attentive in the restaurant and tea room, Gloria’s massage was heavenly, Constantine made the farm tour engaging and insightful, and Walter gave us a once-in-a-lifetime forest immersion. Celey from the concierge team made planning effortless and helped us fit it all in. We’d come back without hesitation and highly recommend it for a unique, restorative stay.

The hotel, its grounds, and the surrounding area all feel calm and relaxing. Each well-planned room has an incredible distant view of the Nicoya Peninsula, and our balcony was amazing. The staff made the place feel so welcoming, and the included breakfasts were delicious. We enjoyed all three dinners there, both the flavor and variety. The jacuzzi was delightful, too. A beautiful Monteverde stay if you want something upscale without paying what can feel like an enormous amount these days.

We loved watching birds from our balcony, and the traditional drip coffee setup made mornings feel relaxed and special. The room had understated elegance that suited Monteverde perfectly. Hotel Belmar’s grounds were beautifully kept, the food was consistently outstanding, and it felt good to support a locally owned, family-run hotel that clearly cares about every detail. The staff were warm and welcoming across the board, from the restaurant and lobby to maintenance and our night-walk guide. A peaceful, authentic, memorable stay. Highly recommended.
