We only stayed one night, but the grounds were a treat to walk around, with forest areas, butterfly gardens and lookout points. A friendly old dog greeted us, along with a very curious kitten, lilly. Wonderful place.

The converted barn is beautifully done and very comfortable, with a big kitchen, room for eight, and a bathroom and shower for each bedroom plus a separate half bath. The whole place was clean. Outside, the landscaping is lovely, hummingbirds are everywhere, and the mountain setting looks down over Santa Elena and Monteverde. On a clear day you can even see the Pacific Ocean. The roads are rough, sure, but Monteverde isn’t somewhere to rush through as a day trip. Slow down and enjoy the jungle. The animals blend in so well that hurrying means missing the attractions. The views are stunning, and the place itself is beautiful. The beds were really comfortable too.

The view is fantastic, and the rooms are spacious with good beds. Breakfast was a letdown apart from the tasty fruit: we got dry bread and eggs that couldn’t be fried without oil. We asked, and they eventually brought coffee and oil.
