Hospedaje Mariposa

A very nice family hotel with friendly hosts and clean rooms. The breakfast at the hotel in front was great.

The garden was a highlight for us: there’s a table there where we spotted around 20 bird species. Our room was clean and had a nice outdoor porch where we often sat. Prices were very affordable, with a small discount for paying in cash. The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful, making us comfortable before arrival and throughout the visit. It’s within walking distance of the main cloud forest reserve, a good base for natural history visitors. We’ll stay here next time we’re in Monteverde.

We loved the quiet, relaxing jungle setting, and it was comfortable too. From our porch we saw a variety of birds right in front of us. The staff were kind and helpful, and it was easy to get to attractions around the area. I’d recommend staying here and would be glad to return.

The owner was friendly and gave us lots of useful information. It’s easy to find and very spacious. We had the two-bedroom accommodation for five people, with everything needed for a few nights. The kitchen had the basics, so we could cook one evening. The Monteverde Cloud Forest shuttle bus is a minute’s drive or three-minute walk up the road. For meals, there’s a restaurant across the road, town is a five-minute drive, or you can order through the local app Monteverde en Casa, which offers many nearby restaurants. On a weekend evening, our order from two restaurants took just 35 minutes and was delicious.
