Macadamia - Monteverde

We had to get out of a horrible AirBnB experience, and this place let us book a room at 10:00 at night. Guillermo showed us to our villa and said we could pay in the morning. He was so welcoming and kind. The villa was very clean and comfortable, with much more space than we needed and the whole place to ourselves. We’ll stay here next time we’re in Mounteverde.

After a terrible Airbnb stay with no running water, we started messaging hotels at 9pm, hoping someone could take us in. Fresia and Guillermo came to our rescue and were so warm and kind. Guillermo might be the friendliest person I’ve ever met. The villa was beautiful, and I’d absolutely stay here again if I get the chance to visit Costa Rica.

The kids loved the trampoline outside our villa, and the gated compound meant they could explore on their own. Villa #5 has a bigger trampoline than some of the others. We could watch low clouds drift through the property, and sat under the covered patio during rainstorms. The villa was even better than the photos. Check-in was seamless, arranged directly with property manager Guillermo through What's app, and there are codes for the main gate and villa front door. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed, the washer/dryer was great, and there were AC units in both bedrooms and the main area. Ana and Guillermo were there right away whenever we needed anything. It’s a 5 minute drive to Sta Elena, with supermarkets, coffee shops, restaurants, souvenirs, a pharmacy and a 24 hr clinic, which we unfortunately needed after a mishap. A wonderful stay, highly recommend.

Guillermo, the property manager, really made our stay. He was on site in the reception office, welcomed us, and checked that everything was OK. When we had a flat tire, he helped us out. Wonderful care. The property has 6 identical houses. It was very quiet when we visited at the end of November, and everything was really clean and in excellent condition.
