Hotel Luz de Luna

The garden is lovely, and the owner was so kind and helpful. We also really enjoyed the delicious breakfast. The lodges were very clean, but the windows are open and the rooms aren’t sealed, so expect insects to get inside. Thankfully, there’s a mosquito net over the bed.

The bungalows are airy and really cute, and the kitchen was modern and had everything we needed. A supermarket and the nice bar and eatery Eat Street are just a five-minute walk away. Christophe was relaxed and genuinely helpful. We loved Santa Teresa’s atmosphere, but it was a relief to leave the busy main road and step into the hotel’s quiet, lush tropical garden. It felt like a peaceful oasis by Santa Teresa Beach.

The owners are the best part of this little paradise, full of warmth and character. They’re usually around and ready to help with anything. When we had car trouble, Cristobal went out of his way to work out what was wrong and find a solution, and he succeeded. We’d definitely return. Luz de Luna is a small family hotel, with several bungalows spread through a beautifully kept garden full of different plants. From the terraces we saw monkeys, squirrels, birds, and loads of butterflies. It’s a sustainable place, so not every bungalow has AC. If you need it, check the room description or ask for one with AC. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are super comfortable, and the beach is about a 10-minute walk away. We found this place at the last minute and Christophe had a lovely bungalow ready when we got there that evening. It was spotlessly clean, and the soft sheets, well-equipped bathroom, and kitchen made our one-night stay really comfortable. I liked that the bungalow made it feel like we were outdoors while still having the usual hotel room comforts. Christophe also pointed us to a great dinner spot. Such a little gem in Santa Teresa, highly recommend!
