Hotel Cabinas La Playa

We cooked nearly all our meals in the room’s good kitchenette, and enjoyed the pool as well. The beach was only a short walk away, and the owners were friendly. I’d definitely stay here again.

There were two pools on site, and Maria can make breakfast for a small fee if you want it. My cabina had a fridge and AC, with one larger bed and bunk beds, and a horse pasture right outside the front porch. It suited me perfectly and would have worked well for a longer vacation too. Great place and location. I’ll stay again.

Patricia and Juan made us feel like family. They were welcoming and helped with everything we needed to make the stay special. The rooms were cleaned almost every day, and breakfast was delicious. Thanks, Patricia and Juan. Highly recommend.

One of the worst places I’ve ever stayed. The pools were slimy underfoot, the mattress and linens were soiled, and the rooms never seemed to get cleaned. We had carpenter ants and termites in our room. Don’t look under the beds unless you want to see dead insects, geckos, and filth that could make you vomit. When we asked to move cabins, management gave the other one to someone else instead. The toilet seat was broken, and neither the lamps nor the outlets worked. The owners have SEVEN chihuahuas that bark constantly. Their daughter spent her time complaining about her family, job, and how awful the Costa Rican government is. The only upside was that there were no gringos, and it was a few minutes from miles of beautiful, uninhabited beaches.
