The water sometimes gets shut off at odd hours, which is a big inconvenience, though that seems to happen everywhere I’ve stayed in Costa Rica and isn’t the hostel’s fault. Aside from that, my week at Pura Vida Hostel was fun and relaxed. I’d planned on two nights but extended my stay twice. The kitchen was well equipped and became a social spot, with everyone cooking together like family. Hammocks, chairs and tables made the common area a nice place to gather. I enjoyed chatting with the owner, Matts (spelling?), who gave helpful tips and directions and went out of his way to help me stay longer. I met wonderful people I’m still in touch with, and even traveled with some of them. I’d definitely come back. PURA VIDA
