Hortensias Chalets Vara Blanca

The view from this fantastic location was magnificent. We got such a warm welcome, and the hosts were happy to work around our needs. Since we had to leave very early for Paos Volcano, they offered to serve breakfast earlier. They also pointed out an online webcam showing the view and current weather at the Paos crater. We couldn't recommend this place more.

We showed up late, tired, and hungry after our original accommodation fell through in early November. The hosts opened the restaurant just for us and made fantastic artisan pizza, exactly what we needed. After a night of sleeping like logs, we woke to a delicious breakfast and a fun conversation in my broken Spanish. They speak English, but were happy to let me try. They're lovely, friendly, warm people, and we left smiling after what could have been a really stressful situation. Thank you!

A great place to stop, with an awesome view from the patio deck. The ribeye was really good, and the coffee was excellent. I also took a margarita pizza 🍕 to go.

The area around the hotel is peaceful and beautiful, and the restaurant serves delicious home cooked food. I spent two nights here and really enjoyed it. My chalet had everything I needed, the bed was so comfortable, and it felt like home. The staff were incredible, and I had a great conversation with Norman, the manager. Bring warm clothes. It's much cooler up in the mountains, and the hotel and surrounding area were in the clouds for much of our stay, so it was a bit humid but lovely. I can't wait to come back!
