The noise was constant, and it came from inside the house as well as the street. Dayami, the man, and her son called to one another late at night, the TV carried into the room, and we could hear everyone using the bathroom right beside the bed. There was kitchen clatter late at night and early in the morning too. The teenage son seemed to spend all day gaming and smoking in the living room, with a steady flow of visitors, including girls early in the morning who seemed to have stayed overnight and friends later on. So this was not a stay with two ladies: there was Dayami, her son and his friends, plus an unidentified man late at night. The only bathroom is shared with everyone in the house and its door cannot be locked, though that would be an easy fix. The place is on the third floor of a run-down, dingy apartment building. There is no sign or doorbell, and the front gate is locked. Unless your phone works in Cuba, you cannot get in. A friendly neighbor called for us, and even he had to try two different numbers before anyone answered. They completely misrepresent the place as smoke-free. Dayami and her son smoke all the time. I have spent two months traveling around Cuba, staying only in private homes, never hotels. I know Cuban houses are simple, but this was the worst casa/hostal I have stayed in. This place should not be allowed to be listed for rent on any platform. Do not stay here.
