Brisas del Caribe

I wish I could give zero stars. I know people's livelihoods are on the line, but I think others should know what happened. The beach was beautiful, of course, and breakfast had a yummy omelette made by a singing chef. The bread was yummy too. Other food was salads, beans, rice, plantain, and cut-up hot dogs. The air conditioning and hot water weren't working. We spoke to our rep and management and found out the chiller was broken. We paid extra to move to another hotel on Monday. The place is old, which is okay, but it needs a really good cleaning. Staff ignored us and were always fighting with each other. My husband had bug bites after sleeping there. VIP wasn't worth it at all. The damp was hard on my asthma, and the sheets were wet. This is a picture of the level below the main.

Staff weren't friendly from the moment I arrived. Someone opened my bag while it was left in the luggage room. There was no toilet paper in the room, so I asked for some about four times and nobody brought it. Around 11 p.m. I went to get it myself and waited until they handed it over. The food was okay, but customer service was poor. Even when I tipped every time I got a drink or ordered food, everyone acted like serving me was a huge favor. The hotel is run down, and some areas, including my bathroom, smelled bad. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking to have a good time in another country.

We spent 10 glorious days here in February 2026, and it was easily one of the best resorts I've stayed at. The staff were friendly, the beach was phenomenal with crystal-clear Cuban water, and Varadero was only 10 minutes away. We took two trips there and met some amazing people. The buffet was small but fully stocked, with lots of choices like turkey, beef, chicken, and pork. I'll definitely return next year and for many years after.

The beach was nice, and the drinks were okay. Cleaning and food service staff were friendly, but the front desk staff were rude and didn't have accurate information about the resort. The rooms were old, dirty, and infested with bugs. The food was horrible, and I got food poisoning on my third day. I was bedridden for a day and a half of my stay and got bitten by spiders. As a solo female traveler, I tried to be friendly to the many Russians there, but got looks of disgust or hatred, which scared me. I wouldn't return. Definitely not worth it.
