Barcelo Marine Boa Vista - Adults Only

Five nights at Barceló Marine Hotel on an all-inclusive stay turned into a wonderful surprise. The staff were genuinely kind and attentive, and every guest seemed to feel valued. Our spotless room was carefully cleaned each day. We enjoyed great cocktails, varied food and live music on most nights. It was clear they'd listened to past reviews and made improvements, from check-in to the dining options. Special thanks to Edilene, who handles tour bookings. She was always smiling and organized our fantastic four-hour trip in the south of Boa Vista. Highly recommended!

A quiet place to unwind, as they say here, "No Stress." The gardens are beautifully kept, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The buffet had a good choice of food and plenty of fresh fish. Rooms are clean and practical, many with lovely sea views. Don't expect round-the-clock razzle dazzle. We had a great stay.

The staff are what really make this place. Everyone was welcoming and attentive, and Patrick and Paolo at the Teatro bar deserve a special mention. They were so kind, always making sure we had a great evening. The cocktails were knock out every time, served with a smile and a laugh. The food was wonderful, with a different theme each day and plenty of salads, fruit, hot dishes and a self-serve ice cream counter. There was also a Coca Cola machine and beer tap for guests to use. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with private outdoor seating. The beachfront setting is stunning, with lots of sun loungers and a lifeguard constantly on duty. The sea is wavy but fun, and you can find calmer water in the nearby city of Sal Rei. We're on our last day, and this has been paradise from start to finish. I can't find a fault with the resort. Ignore anything negative you read on TUI. For Cape Verde, it's 5 stars, and by UK standards 4 stars, though I'd argue for 5. Anyone with serious complaints would be hard to please. It's wonderful and great value for money. We'll be back, and I already can't wait. Thank you, Barcelo Marine Hotel, and all the attentive staff, for a holiday of a lifetime.

The calm atmosphere was a big part of what we liked. Most guests were older, and there wasn't much to do at night beyond the live music, which we actually appreciated. It's not the place for a party. We also liked the pool activities because staff encouraged people to join without pressuring anyone. The hotel looks clearly renovated, with clean facilities and a gorgeous location on a hill that gave me my favorite view. Rooms were small but pretty, clean and renovated. The food was really good, with themed dinners and seafood every day, and we could always find something yummy. I was a little disappointed that the all-inclusive cocktail choice was only four or five basic options, though staff kept our glasses full during meals. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, spoke good English, and quickly resolved the issues we had. It was a great stay, and I highly recommend it.
