Agrino Hotel Apartments

The location is handy if you want to party, since it’s near the city center and clubs, but this was the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in. There was no reception on site and the place felt totally run down, with no staff around. We couldn’t get into the “lobby” to sit, and the pool was drained and fenced off when we arrived. Our room keys were left in the door, so anyone could have gone in before us. The place was filthy: there was someone else’s hair on the floor, and kitchen utensils had clearly not been washed after their last use. The room Wi-Fi didn’t work, so we couldn’t work. There was just one power outlet, forcing us to choose between charging a phone, using the TV or switching on the kettle. We also had only one chair for two people on the balcony. They don’t clean the rooms, just leave new toilet paper and take out the bins. The door couldn’t be locked from inside either.

The room was amazing for the price, with a huge bed, balcony and a large living room with a sofa. There’s also a big pool and plenty of deck chairs. Customer service was really good and made us feel like friends, not just people passing through. It felt very homely. I really recommend it.

We paid 40 € for the first night and left. The manager threatened to charge us the full amount for the night we didn’t use, even though we had already left part of the payment for that first night. I strongly don’t recommend this hotel. Avoid it, or at least don’t buy the cheapest rooms that aren’t photographed, since you’re apparently guaranteed to get one. Bring strong nerves. The listing showed beautiful rooms, but we were put in an apartment in another building with no pool. Breakfast was 300 meters away at another hotel. Our room was awful, with damaged equipment, dirt and cockroaches, dozens of them. Tourists are housed there and the hotel benefits from their misfortune. Every hour, it seemed, another customer came to reception asking for their money back or to change hotel or room through the Booking menu.

We loved our 10 days at Agrino. The staff and hotel are lovely, and they made everything easy. The rooms have what you need, with a comfy clean bed, fluffy towels and a lovely pool area.
