Costas Hostel Action 2! YES!!! It was cheap, and I’d go back. Bring a sleeping bag and you’re set. You get your own room, almost like having your own hostel. I arrived close to midnight, punched in the code, and got in without any check-in hassle. The rooms are shady, which is great in the hot Cypriot weather. There’s a kids’ football pitch right there, super cute, and it’s right by the turkish boarder.

The kitchen smell is hard to imagine, everything is dirty, and there’s water on the toilet floors. This isn’t a hostel, just a filthy building straight out of a horror film. It’s also far from all the interesting sites in Nicosia. Worst place ever.

It does the job, and the place is insanely cheap. The staff aren’t experienced, but they’re willing to help with anything. Still, the rooms are poorly equipped: in 2021, one outlet for six people just wasn’t enough. The kitchen, bathroom, and yard all look like they’re falling apart. There’s no reception area and no sign outside, which is confusing when you first arrive. Even in August or September, despite the season, the hostel was almost empty. There were just three guests in a place with capacity for over 30. Management should repair the basic facilities and add more accessible electricity. At this point, the savings aren’t worth it.

We had the spacious kitchen to ourselves and could cook and eat our own food there. The owner wasn’t on site, but was helpful by phone, and we got in with a key code that had been sent earlier, though nobody was there to let us in. With lots of dorms, it was still just us staying there. It’s a typical no-frills budget hostel. There was a lizard in our room, which was fine, but the cockroaches were a serious problem for the girls in our group. Management needs to get rid of them. It’s also quite far from the city center, so I wouldn’t recommend staying there without a car, bike, or motorcycle.
