The location is one of the few things going for this accommodation. There's a large Lidl nearby, a DM for basic medicine and skincare, and public transport close by. It's about a 13 to 15 minute walk to the tram, which takes you almost anywhere in the city, including the center in around 10 minutes at minimum. Living conditions and management made the experience stressful. The rooms are tiny and sharing is the norm. There's no clear, fair arrangement for graduate students, so you may be put with undergraduates. Allocation of single rooms in the neighboring accommodation feels chaotic and opaque. Students can pass rooms on as if they own them, which raises serious transparency concerns around manager Martin and assistant Tereza. Laundry is a constant headache. Only three or four washers and dryers serve a lot of students, and they're often broken. You have to book well ahead, the slots are short, and even working machines are inefficient. The dryers barely get clothes dry. Contacting Martin or Tereza tends to bring polite, copied responses that don't resolve anything. The cleaning staff can be unpleasant to deal with, sometimes rude and intimidating instead of helpful. Reception is usually staffed by older women who don't speak English, which can be hard for international students. They do try translation apps and are probably the most decent part of the system, but can't fix much. My problems started on move-in day. I had no mobile data because I had just arrived in the country and needed Wi Fi for a few minutes to order an Uber and find my way into the city. I explained to Martin that I was lost, but he kept repeating university rules and saying Wi Fi was strictly prohibited. He showed no flexibility, and another student eventually shared her hotspot so I could leave. That was an unnecessarily stressful lack of basic help for someone arriving from abroad. It may look cheap at first, but considering the service and living conditions, it isn't. Finding housing in Brno is very difficult, especially for international students, so lots of people end up here because they have to. It's poorly managed, overpriced for what it offers, and a strain to live in. I'd only choose it if there really were no alternative. Good luck!!!
