Hotel Bohemia

The triple room was spacious, more like an apartment than a hotel room, and had hardly any noise or distractions. It was charming, with groin vaulted ceilings, beautiful antique furniture, a nice view of the road, comfortable beds, and soft linens. Everything was exceptionally clean, the service was great, and the location right in the city center was perfect. We arrived earlier than expected and they let us check in early without any trouble. The manager was kind and understanding. We hesitated because of the mixed reviews, but there turned out to be nothing to worry about. The only small complaint was a tiny bit of mold in the shower cabin. I've stayed in much worse places, and for the price this guesthouse is more than acceptable. If the quality had been a problem in the past, it seems they have fixed it.

The location in the old town center is pretty good, and the room had some charm, but it was poorly kept, dirty, and creaked with every step. The place needs renovation and better management. The room smelled musty, and even after several hours I never got used to it, especially when coming back in after going out. There were lots of cups, but every one was dirty. The heater was barely warm, then would switch off, leaving the room freezing. You could hear everyone in the building talking, walking, and even having ***. If you have kids, don't bring them here, since you'd have to explain things. One night, really loud ongoing banging scared me. Maybe people were fighting, and I was afraid they'd bang my door open. There was no cleaning service during my four-night stay, and I had to use the same towel the whole time. I asked for more, but either they didn't understand English or didn't know where the towels were. Even though I was alone and had booked a family room for four nights, they gave me just one towel and didn't exchange it. Check-in happens in the restaurant, which felt weird. You wait in line with people paying for food, then they give you a key after you pay the city tax, with no information or welcome. There's no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs yourself.

The room was spacious and clean, and the location was perfect. There was no AC or electric fan, so it could get hot during the day. The bathroom has no window and can stay damp for quite a while after a shower.

The listing doesn't mention that this place sits right above a bar playing tacky dance music until 2:30AM. Then the club crowd comes barging in at awful hours, screaming and even trying to get into our room while hammered. It's a category 5 disaster. SEEK SHELTER ELSEWHERE.
