The guesthouse is really good, and I slept great in its relaxed atmosphere. It's a little out of the way, but I wouldn't mind staying here again. The landlady's waste-sorting instructions startled us at first, though we're used to sorting at home, so it was fine. All the rooms are up in the attic, which means lots of stairs. That didn't bother us, but I can imagine it being uncomfortable for older guests.

The garden and terrace were lovely spots to unwind, and the quiet, green setting on the edge of České Budějovice made for a really peaceful stay. The center was only a few minutes away by car. Inside, the rooms were spacious, clean and nicely decorated, with comfortable beds and a modern, tidy bathroom. I appreciated having coffee and tea in the room, too. Breakfast had a great spread of fresh food and homemade things, from pastries and cheese to fragrant cakes. The staff were friendly, helpful, and happy to suggest places to visit nearby. I found U Lesa Guesthouse a comfortable place to relax while still being close to the city, and I'd gladly return to Penzion U Lesa in České Budějovice.
