The location and terrace view were the best parts of our three-night stay at Hotel Dvořák in Český Krumlov, from 16.1.2026 to 19.1.2026. It’s right in the center, about five minutes’ walk from everything, and the view was incredible. It seems few rooms have it. The staff were very friendly, from the receptionist at check-in and checkout to the excellent bar and restaurant manager, who even brought food to our room himself despite the elevator only reaching the fourth floor. For 14,000 Kč for three nights, though, the value wasn’t there. We were told the “terrace room” was the most expensive and best option, but it felt very dated, like a 90s renovation, and several things were broken or only partly working. In winter, not having slippers or robes was a big miss, so we had to walk around in socks. The room was clean enough, but the little sofa looked worn and dirty and needs replacing or reupholstering. The bathroom was poorly equipped: no proper towel holders, one broken, so towels ended up on the toilet tank. There was no soap by the sink, just small shampoo and lotion bottles. The old shower doors were broken and barely moved, and hot water took a very long time to arrive. Housekeeping was inconsistent too. We asked for cleaning and fresh towels during the day, then returned to an uncleaned room with the same towels. At night there were no food or snack options, which was frustrating. The hotel needs better maintenance, renovation, and basic amenities and service that fit the price.

The whole place smelled amazing, with food aromas in the air, and the atmosphere was spot on. We dropped in by chance and, after chatting with a really friendly staff member, found a great selection of wines. They pour the wine right in front of you, which makes it feel special. Highly recommended. Bring cash if you want to leave a tip, since you can’t add one by card.

Dinner by the river was fantastic. The venison schnitzel was to die for, and both our server, Marcia, and the chef, Bedřich Bedanek, were excellent. Definitely recommend it!

We went some years ago and the food was so delightful it could inspire a grown man to write sonnets. The views were almost operatic, and the staff were wonderfully kind. It felt like an event, not just a meal, and the food and scenery were both a pleasure.
