Pension Na Kovárně

The bed was the biggest problem for me. It felt like a piece of wood, and even my backpacking air mattress is more comfortable. The hosts gave me an extra pillow and comforter when I mentioned it, which I appreciated. With the window open, noise from the busier street also made it harder to sleep. Our room did have a lovely view of the castle tower. There was freshly chopped fruit at breakfast on our first morning, but not on the next two, which disappointed me since I love fruit. For the price, I’d also have liked the room turned down daily, though there’s no room service and this isn’t a dealbreaker. There’s a lot I liked about Pension Na Kovárně: the location is excellent for walking to tourist spots, it’s tastefully updated, the shower is great, the bathroom is big, breakfast is decent, and the hosts are friendly. Just keep in mind they’re only around at breakfast time. I’m torn on how to rate it, since good sleep matters a lot to me, but comfort is personal. If I return to CK, I’d try somewhere else.

Getting to the town from here is easy, and the bus station is also a short distance away, which helps if you have large bags and want to avoid the rocky streets. We stayed on 19.11.2023 in this beautiful 16th-century house, which has been recently renovated. The room was clean and tidy, with strong hot water for bathing. Breakfast had plenty of choices and was good. Even though there weren’t many guests, the owner made scrambled eggs and sausages for us, and they were tasty. The owner was very nice and helpful.

The owner was welcoming and so helpful throughout our two-night stay at this inn, starting 5 February this year. Whenever we asked for something on WhatsApp, they did their best to help. The breakfast was tasty, and the pension’s location is excellent too. I’m sure it’s a great choice for staying in Cesky Krumlov.

We needed an extra night after our plans changed, but couldn’t extend our AirBnB, so we booked here just a day ahead. The room was cozy and affordable, and the staff replied quickly despite the language barrier. It’s right by the entrance to the historic city center, which made getting around incredibly convenient.
