Pension Nika

The rooms are small but clean, and the hostess was very kind. Breakfast was a generous buffet. There are a few parking spaces in front of the pension, but they only take cash.

The walk from the bus stop was quite long and there’s a hill to climb, but the host was warm and kind. The price was low for the great service we got. There’s a kitchen outside the room with a microwave and dishes, and the dog was cute. Clean, quiet, and relaxing.

We stopped here during a motorcycle tour in September 2022, after a full day riding in the rain, and felt comfortable at the guesthouse. The staff were very easygoing and friendly, and the room and bathroom facilities we used were of a very high standard. Breakfast was delicious. It’s in a residential area, with the old town and lots of restaurants about a 10-minute walk away. We’d definitely recommend it to bikers.

The owner was pleasant, and breakfast tasted good, but after our second stay we won’t come back. We’d been extremely satisfied on our first visit in spring, when we stayed on the first floor. This time our downstairs room was a disaster. It was dark, and the bed was too short. We’re not tall, I’m 165 cm and my husband is 172 cm, but even with our heads against the headboard our legs stuck out. The headboard was disgustingly dirty from other people’s heads. The sheets smelled musty, and the bathroom was cramped. The toilet was positioned so you had to get to it sideways, and once seated your knees rubbed against the wall. I can’t imagine larger or obese people managing in there. Breakfast was good, but everything was damp: the tea bags and the salt in the shaker. When we unscrewed its top, there was wet brown stuff in the threads. We’d been so pleased in spring that we returned, but after this stay we won’t be back.
